I lost a lot of time for a good few years playing TOR! Kind of scary how time flies… As you say, lot of love, lot of… issues too.

I haven’t played in a long time, so I think it’d be fun to revisit. My only issue is how slow I am at making videos, but definitely one I’d be interested in doing

What is Elden scrolls? Sounds fun.

Also, I’m pretty sure you can’t play two player in nightreign (which is nuts - From really need to improve their whole multiplayer experience)

Stunning movie, and much more engaging than part one for me (which left me bitterly disappointed in a packed theatre a couple years ago).

Still gutted we haven’t ever had a follow up to blade runner tho

The true measuring stick for humanity collectively losing the impact of shame - dudes thinking their personal failures are the fault of ‘society’, and not thinking “I need to reevaluate how I conduct myself”

Looks grand moff tarkin by way of red dead redemption 2 - I dig it

I’m 100% with you there - my perfect open world souls game would take more inspiration from death stranding tbh - lean in to the environment being part of the challenge (planning routes, balance, make the journey feel like an epic struggle against nature)

Generally agree with this - one big exception is Star Wars Jedi:survivor. A lot of Bode’s character arc relies on audio logs - without spoilers - without those logs, his motivations for the second half of the game are poorly explored

I know this is going to be on my rotation for the foreseeable - I love the way you write, man.

A moral stance ain't much of a stance if you - the biggest Souls creator - crumbles to this kinda pressure. Honestly, appreciate you not posting over there.

As someone just starting out, I couldn't bear the swamp that X has become (and not the fun, poison kind)

never play Hogwarts Legacy if you don't like lack of consequence...

These games mean more to me than I can possibly describe - they've been a beacon during some of the darkest moments in my life, starting with DS back in 2012.

PCR made me question why I ever enjoyed these games.

I'm super impressed your partner got so far btw - mine noped out on Cursed Greatwood

Also, write more about MGS:R please - that game holds a special place in my heart, and I never see anything about it (outside the Mr. Pres memes)

I'm only being an idiot - sorry. I agree, I like TLOU2's narrative quite a bit, but the whole 'violence bad' - and the excessiveness with which it delivers that message - doesn't work that well.

One of the things I'm hoping the show can tackle and improve tbh.

My hope as an aspiring video essayist is to celebrate games and films I love - not just tear them down for views (so I know I'll never be successful).

Critiquing something doesn't mean being negative (tho it certainly can mean being negative at times) - it's about balance
February 9, 2025 at 4:21 AM
Did we play the same TLOU2? I distinctly remember smashing the ever-loving ish out of countless goons in that game. Abbie and Ellie are war criminals, but it's okay cause they forgave each other and went their separate ways in the end.

(Media literacy is not my strong suit)

fluff like making him easier to dodge, smaller/actually accurate hitboxes, less staggering...

sounds more like fixes than fluff

he's still a terrible boss to end a generally brilliant expansion
February 9, 2025 at 4:05 AM
It's called Death Stranding - and a sequel is coming out soon. Plenty of games out there if you pull yourself out of the FPS genre
February 9, 2025 at 2:54 AM
Isn't this just consumer culture - most folk are just trying to speed through the latest 'thing' and then move on to the next, never stopping to consider if they're actually enjoying the things they consume.

Unless you're like me, then you just get stuck playing the same 10 games on repeat...
