I’m in Toronto right now. Last night, I walked past Maple Leafs Square and saw thousands of fans gathered outside—once again—only to be let down by this cursed team. I have zero regrets about my decision to stop following hockey and rooting for the Leafs. The ending was just so predictable.

@mattgalloway.bsky.social your segment today on Russia-Ukraine was again concerning. Russia invaded and bombs civilians daily. There’s no moral ambiguity. Your forced neutrality echoes Kremlin propaganda and your guests’ responses clearly refuted your framing. That should tell you something.

Our already car-centric city is becoming even more car-centric. I live in Halifax and work in Dartmouth, but getting to work on public transportation would take three times longer than it takes me to drive.
Thanks, Tim Houston, for the most foolish reason for a car-free ride over the bridge.

Removing the tiny bit of congestion pricing we have, and downloading all those costs to the entire province, is so mind-boggling regressive.

Donald Trump says Canada has no right to exist.
I take the threat seriously. With our sovereignty on the table I support a national discussion on next steps.
But CBC thinks it would be fun to have an American DJ co-host whether we should exist as a nation.

As a regular listener to CBC’s The Current, I often find host @mattgalloway.bsky.social’s interview questions, especially on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, overly simplistic and parroting propaganda. Today, I was relieved to hear guest host @armstrongcbc.bsky.social, who did a fantastic job.

In Putin’s Russia, elections are rigged, dissent is crushed, and political opponents are jailed or exiled. Putin stays in power by allowing oligarchs to grow rich in exchange for loyalty. This is who U.S. President Trump has aligned himself with. youtu.be/rKBM2kS6B8o?...

Last year, law enforcement intercepted about 19 kilograms of fentanyl at the US-Canada border. At the southern border, agents seized 9,600 kilograms.

The idea that Canada is a major source of drugs is a lie, and this admin is hoping you’re stupid enough to believe it.

Couldn’t agree more with Rachel.
No one is safe from the wrath of Poilievre's Conservatives...not even a past leader!

Poilievre's predecessor Erin O'Toole got caught up in the divisive rage machine after he had the audacity to...be nice to a Liberal who respected trans folks once or twice.

Let’s talk about it:

Because the only properly dimensioned 200m indoor synthetic track in NS is part of a multi-use recreation centre, the sports it was built for (athletics/running) are often squeezed by walkers. If the Canada Games Centre track was specifically designed for walking, would be grossly over engineered.

Friends, it is true – I have been “permanently banned” from Reddit Canada for the crime of doing journalism and asking its moderators questions

Please watch this video from @rachelgilmore.bsky.social about what’s wrong with Canada’s biggest subreddit:
Something stinks on Canada’s largest Reddit forum.

It just banned journalist @lukelebrun.ca.

His crime? Asking why his scoop on an anti-LGBTQ activist ambushing Trudeau in B.C. was removed.

He’s not the first to notice something seriously fishy over there.

When Cons tell you that Canadian food inflation is higher than the U.S., ask them to explain this chart. The price on carbon hasn’t increased food prices (pennies per $100 bill).

Does America have a carbon tax? No. Why is their food inflation equal to/higher than here?
