Well today was stressful, not a gentle slide down to the weekend. It's worn me out this evening.

I got delayed while running the bath so I've just got into a bath of tepid water.

This working from home malarkey really doesn't work in cold weather. Think I might need to head into an office where they can pay for the heating instead of me.

90 mins tonight to drive 20 miles home from work. Had to fortify myself with a KFC as a reward.

It's looking damp out there.

The difference between 2 working days - yesterday was 'smile and wave' and today was an absolute hoot with work colleague. It did us all good to laugh through a few things.

I've been awake since before 6 for no reason at all. ☹️

I can't believe I'm a Celebrity is still on - but I guess if people weren't watching it, they wouldn't show it.

I have had to be at my most professional and polite today. While internally screaming. Is there some sort of award for this?

The government won’t achieve ‘decency’ over ‘division’ by trying to be Reform Lite and please remember this - the ECHR is much more than a treaty. It’s a quiet promise - a shield against abuse of power, a lifeline for the vulnerable, a declaration of who we are as a nation
Labour’s plan risks weakening protections for all of us. Human rights are universal - politicians may not always find them politically convenient but it shouldn’t fall to any government to say who those rights should and should not apply to. It’s a slippery slope to oblivion youtu.be/bl0Lm7v_T18?...

I wish I were one of those 'leap out of bed and tackle life' people, but it's just not going to happen.

Looks like the milder weather is over. Definitely noticing the chill today. That's it until March.

Having a relaxing Sunday morning, though I've just heard someone outside shouting at his children, 'Just get in the car - I'm not fucking about!'.

Ok, I'm starting on this now. Never seen it before, so let's see how it compares with I, Claudius.

Just watched Gary Oldman's Dracula for the first time in years. It definitely lacked something, but I can't put my finger on what.

9.5 hours' sleep last night, but I'm still feeling dopey. Probably too much of a good thing.

I'm seeing all these posts about the storm, how much damage it's doing, how noisy it is. I feel quite relieved that I'm lying here with the window open and deathly silence outside. Hope everyone's night is ok!

I don't know why I had it in my head that it was 11.45 when it's actually 10.45. Oh well, I'm in bed now - more reading time, I guess.

Friday evening, which means... gin time!

There's nothing like starting the day with a conversation in my flat when I'm half dressed with a neighbour I've never met and a rather nice plumber.

Window open or closed tonight? Oh the life I lead with such giddy choices!

I've just eaten a load of Quality Street. Only the creams, of course.

Fed the squirrel and 10 mins later I looked out to find the food was gone and replaced by this pile of leaves. Does this count as payment?

Back in a hospital waiting room (scheduled appointment). This seems to have been my life this year. Fingers crossed for 2026 once things are sorted.

There's been a car outside my bedroom window with the engine running for at least 30 mins. I know what you're thinking - probably just another fan - but it's very annoying.
