A few of the folks who had lined our small-city (total population 10k) main thoroughfare for No Kings Day followed up with our local Indivisible at our local nature park for a rally with veterans for Flag Day. #NoKings

My father's old 'own-root' rose - it was already mature when moved from northern California to San Diego in 1984, then to Savannah GA in 1987, and to the Olympic Peninsula in 2008. Two new canes this spring.

We have no native Chionanthus here but the Douglas hawthorn is in bloom here in the coastal PNW.

Peeps arrived as Gloria, unsuitably named for a cat who spoke in squeaks, except when hyperaesthesia caused her to spin and scream. Eight years on, an aldosterone-producing adrenal tumor brought hypertension and organ failure. We let her go yesterday, thanks to the veterinarian who gave her to us.
