It's baffling how even the left is painting this as if it was always Trump's parade. It's been planned for years and would've happened no matter who won the election. He's done his best to co-opt it, yes, but the fact that he happened to be born on the Army's birthday is sheer god-awful coincidence.

Pope Leo didn't say this (unfortunately). Respectfully, please consider editing or even deleting. There's enough misinformation from the right; we on the left ought not add to it.🙂 www.snopes.com/fact-check/p...
No evidence Pope Leo XIV said, 'You cannot follow both Christ and the cruelty of kings'
Social media users jumped to conclusions over a quote circulating online.

The fact that the Army's big birthday anniversary coincides with Cheeto Hitler's first birthday of this term is an extremely unfortunate coincidence. These two events were completely unrelated, and the parade has been planned for months/years... But of course he's gonna try to make it all about him.

The parade's been planned for years. The fact that it coincides with the birthday of the Cheeto in Chief is VERY unfortunate coincidence. (Since many are jumping to conclusions) Regardless, if your leader is talking about a military parade for their birthday, ✨ you might be in a tyrant's cult ✨

SC justices almost HAVE to be articulate to get their positions. Even if they're not particularly gifted public speakers, one rarely gets that far without authoring some impressive opinions throughout their career. A SC justice who's terrible at both writing and speaking is less common.

Oooo that's awesome! Do you have a brand rec? When I search for bendy silicone straws only the regular flexible kind come up, not ones that actually hold different positions.
April 28, 2025 at 8:12 PM
While I use & love steel straws, we def still need better plastic substitute options. One of the few groups who truly need plastic straws are those with certain disabilities, esp tremors which can make hard straws unsafe. Silicone is soft and durable, but doesn't hold an angle it's bent to.

What gives you the impression that this isn't intentional satire of those in favor of no/poor firearm regulations? It comes across as conscious irony to me (born + raised in the US, for cultural reference). I don't see anything on the sign holder or in the background which suggests they're anti-reg.

Scathing satire. If this wasn't used as a pro-gun control slogan, it should be. The disgust and outrage it evokes in decent people when framed in this way is precisely the point. Marvelously done.

Nothing lasts forever. Rome, Greece, Persia... Every regime eventually falls or changes significantly.
That said, even in a best-case scenario, the US is looking at decades of work to fix the dumpster fire that most voters decided to ignite under their own feet.

Anyway, this is bullshit. It’s using intimidation to derail a merit-based process & exert political control over scientific findings, partly because some butthurt contrarians had papers rejected.

Journals must fight back against scientific censorship.

💯 I've been saying for years, caring THAT much about another adult's genitalia is fucking creepy and a sign of an unwell mind. And when it's a child? Probably wanna seize their computer for evidence 🍕

No amount of economic benefit will ever change the fact that he's a Nazi.

Will he, though? Bukele's strategy for his own rise to autocratic rule seems to be Trump's playbook in many ways. I hope you're right, but I fear that anyone Trump seeks to emulate will not be much more reasonable than he is.

That's def what the Vatican upholds, but you might be shocked how super progressive sisters in many religious orders are about nearly everything else (even trans folx sometimes). Not uncommon to see them at larger left-wing protests, even if they happen to end up marching alongside pro-choice signs.

I think the surprise comes from the fact that these are the same red states in which many people chose to ignore all the evidence that these things would happen and voted for him anyway. Obviously, though, there are a ton who didn't vote for him, as well as some voters willing to right their wrongs!

Major regulation of political campaign funding is needed. Musk threatens to buy the positions of Republican opposition because we've allowed laws that let him, and make no mistake that he'll try the same to every Dem or independent in public office if given the chance.

Another major factor is that the whole rest of the world saw Trump and P2025 for what they were far more quickly and clearly than the American voter base did.
