Thanks Bryn.

Is more clarity expected? Or does the city and BC Hydro think they're done?

Thank you so much. I really appreciate your lead on this. Looking forward to clarity.

Any updates on this please? Thank you.

Here's another recent build (Burnaby) with both high voltage and a transformer built adjacent to a permanent building. I wonder why it is "dangerous" now but wasn't then?

Good luck to you and all the builders to get this sorted out quickly.

That'll work for me. My lot is only 107.5 deep ( but wide and on a corner ), so no lane home. But a triplex or fourplex is possible as long as I can have covered parking at the lane.

Thanks Bryn.
And now, I guess it's become an issue. I'm trying to sell an older home that backs onto a lane in East Vancouver. The power poles are on my side of the lane. This 3 meter setback limits the multiplex options.

Also, for the high voltage lines (top wire) down the lanes, do you know when they were put in? I suspect within recent years. IS HYDRO not responsible for the risk (and lost value) imposed on the existing infrastructure (garages, etc)? I'm asking you as you seem well researched on this topic. Thx

Hello Bryn. See pic attached in Burnaby, do they have a different interpretation?

In the area boxed by Renfrew, Lilloeet, Charles and Adanac, there are a dozen or more current active builds or recent builds where this setback has been ignored. There seems to be serious inconsistencies in approvals.
