I mean, Windows 95 sucks, but the classic theme slaps. Mainly because of how customizable it is, neither Aero or Luna lets you change every single colour within the theme, classic does.

(Note: The only other official theme that supports this is aero-lite when using High Contrast themes)
A Windows 11 LTSC VM set up using a classic theme called Pankine - Dynamic (dark blue, with blue gradient titlebar when active, and grey gradients when inactive). Here, you can see the default Win 11 dark desktop, with two file explorer windows open. The taskbar is from Retrobar, and configured to 'System Vista' to pick up on the colour settings from the Classic Theme settings Screenshot credit: AveYo (GitHub). This is a screenshot of a custom high contrast theme for Windows 10, called Whiteless (this is a nice theme actually). My set up is a little more basic, as I've gone with a preset (except changing the system font as I find Tahoma slightly more readable). I went with the Plum Them, as I find that a lot more easy on my eyes compared to the others.

I also configured this scheme in Vivaldi, my default browser.
A Windows 10 22H2 PC desktop, configured to the Windows Classic Plum theme. The desktop background is a minimalistic one with a deer overlooking a sunset within a pine tree forest. Ahead of the deer is a lake and a mountain range. The sky is blue and orange, with a white sun, and reddish mountains. The deer and forest are in colour black and the wallpaper is a silhouette style. The same desktop, but with a file explorer window open to My Computer, and the UWP Settings app in front showing the system information. A Vivaldi window set to a similar theme to the desktop, with a purple accent colour to match the titlebar, and the brownish tab and window controls to better match the 3d control colour that I configured for the system. The new tab background is the same as the desktop wallpaper.

My lukewarm take is: Microsoft should bring back the Classic Theme for Windows 12 (will never happen, but I can dream)

(the below example is a heavily modified version of Windows 10, which I included to show what I mean by Classic theme)

I'm so sick of this generative AI, to the point where uninstalling Co-Pilot was the first thing I did when setting up my new Windows 10 Machine.

And... it still has WordPad (not that I use it very often, but I like that it's there).

It's definitely possible, as the Windows Classic Theme is still technically there on the OS, just hidden. For example, below is a screenshot of my Windows 10 partition on my MacBook.
