For older books we can’t add to our collection, we reach out to Better World Books to see if they’ll take it or Sustainable Shelves for recycling. We always try to find the most appropriate “home” for them :)

Another job just junked everything but I won’t say who :/

As someone with attachment issues, I know for some it’s hard letting go of things, but some books are just past their usable life.

I’ll have to ask the head of Circ where I work: every time an item is checked out, its stats are recorded including renewals. If one is read in the library, that stat is recorded too. At the end of the year we compile everything. I’m pretty sure those stats will help in some way. I’ll investigate :)
