That feeling is so valid. Been there done that, had the sweater not fit. After the second time it happened I'm trying it on constantly as soon as it's able to be tried on! Same with a colorwork yoke sweater. Got through the toke, tried it on, it was huge. It's in timeout after being restarted. 🫣

Sweaters are HARD, especially if you have to make adjustments from the straight pattern sizes. And it is a big investment of time of and money. This is only the 3rd cardigan I've ever made for me.

Mine is running late as well! I meant to have it done early October for NY Sheep& Wool. Oh well.

Usually I have at least 4 things going, socks, shawl, a hat, etc. at first I focused on this in the hope I could wear it to NY Sheep and Wool, but that didn't happen. Now I just want it done and if I started something else I'd probably never finish this.

I've never been so monogamous of a knitter! 😆

You can, but I don't do felting. It's going in my compost. If it's less than 2" I'm not keeping it. I'll comb this fleece and card the short bits from combing. Mostly I'm confused how highly this fleece was graded with so many second cuts. This is my second time processing fleece, so idk.

An update: We did it! The socks are done!! AND a cowl. All that's left is a few shawls: Exploration Station, Birds of a Feather, and a Melanie Berg one that I forget the name of. I started weaving in Exploration Station last night, and omg there's so many.

Here's some clean locks! The rest is a jumbled mess on the drying rack. It's SO SOFT, and ranges from silver to charcoal grey. I'm waiting for my combs to arrive from the Woolery.

I did the same thing this past weekend with a merino x Romney x cormo cross. SO GREASY. It was my first fleece process and I said the same thing about starting on hard mode to my husband 😆. It took FOREVER.

It feels amazing! I can't wait to get into processing it. 🙌🏻
