HDR is a must. No realistic lighting without HDR.

You truly go through the world with your eyes open.

In terms of RR water flickering I meant something else. I guess you mean the general water animation. Yeah, it look completely unrealistic most of the time (way too fast movement). Kinda kills the immersion, but at least the reflection quality is way better now with RR.

Water looks much better with Ray Reconstruction. I would say it looks coherent now within the open world.

And they fixed the RR water flickering issues with the latest update.

Welchen Internet-Provider nutzt du?

Which does not fix the core issue at all.

This is just a bug.

Bei welchem Provider bist du? Ich muss so langsam von Telekom weg, weil die Peering-Geschichte mittlerweile echt absurd wird.

Iam using a 13700K/ Asus TUF 4090.

Not only there. Often in areas close to shore where the water isn’t moving very much. This is the most noticeable spot I’ve found so far (with video inside):

Okay, water reflections look quite alot better with RR, but with a side-effect of "flickering" parts. Makes it unsettling to look at. Overall I'm not a fan of the water in general in this game. RR really pushes my GPU here. Downclocks into the 2500-2600Mhz range. I will leave RR off for now.
December 10, 2025 at 2:01 PM
Yeah, but it comes with a pretty heavy performance hit:

In-game benchmark, 4K, Ultra preset, DLSS Quality:

RR off: 99 avg, 82 min, 120 max
RR on: 79 avg, 67 min, 94 max

And I don’t really notice any obvious visual improvement so far.

The VRR support is now a prime example. I wish every title had this variety of options. @dark1x.bsky.social You need to test this! There are basically 18 modes on PS5 Pro now to choose from (6 graphic modes with 3 VRR presets each). Iam so curious how it affects the resolution.

The best experience I get is by locking the FPS and ideally never dropping below it. I also avoid gliding around locations with Lune, as she causes more frametime hitches for some reason. Frametime issues at the start of battles are always there, though they don't bother me.

Hahaha, I LOVE it.

Did not happen there for me (4090).

One thing I personally noticed was the difference in Stalker 2 between the Game Pass and Steam versions. There was a noticeable difference in frame times in favour of the Steam version.

Have you tested Clair Obscure already? If so, whats your first impression in terms of performance?

LOL

Just tested it myself with my 13700K/4090 at the same location and running around for about 20min and I only saw two noticable frametime spikes when the CPU was doing background caching for a short moment. 82-110FPS with DLAA at 4K+HDR maxed out. Pretty much perfectly running port on my system.
