.. You think the descendents of operation paperclip are running the country?
January 18, 2026 at 1:54 PM
Progressives can only see the forest, not the trees of US politics. "60% of America supports..!" is not "west virginia supports" or "this specific district in New York supports". And they will damn the good to try and reach the perfect.
January 18, 2026 at 1:51 PM
And hire people who realize that to help design their messaging.
January 18, 2026 at 12:28 PM
American progressives need to stop pretending their message sells in every district in the country.
January 18, 2026 at 12:27 PM
And what, exactly, does AIPAC have to do with, or even care about, ICE funding?
January 18, 2026 at 12:19 PM
Did you read any of the previous posts? All the stuff you are complaining about will continue to operate and be funded in a shut down.
January 18, 2026 at 12:17 PM
Its pretty obvious he didn't write that.
January 18, 2026 at 12:02 PM
Thanks for your contribution to the Republican reelection effort.

Their excuse is their position is not that there should be 100% uncontrolled, unregulated gun ownership in case of tyranny.
January 18, 2026 at 11:55 AM
That rationale was invented from wholecloth by the right wing of the court not 20 years ago & is not why the various gun right groups have secured their uncontrolled right of ownership. That's why the Onion posts a picture saying the NRA forgot to rise up against tyranny every few weeks.

I don't know how I got tuned into "all ev posts all the time" posts, but this idea that EVs being able to be sold from China to Canada will supplant all or even a significant portion of US auto sales to Canada - which will not be EV, is peak pro EV delusion.
January 17, 2026 at 1:20 PM
What dumbass said that?
January 17, 2026 at 1:07 PM
A thing that has nothing to do with the fact that Chinese auto plants opened in Canada won't produce cars that are as cheap as in China. You understand what cost of living is, right?
January 17, 2026 at 1:04 PM
Utilities are exactly the kind of thing you don't want privatized.
January 17, 2026 at 12:17 PM
You understand that car workers can't earn 25k in Europe and Canada, right? That might not be 10 cents an hour, but it's $12. Which is below minimum wage in many places in the west.
January 17, 2026 at 12:08 PM
And then the costs will rise sharply because of the much higher expenses to manufacture in Canada, or anywhere in the west, compared to China.
January 17, 2026 at 12:02 PM
Are we deluding ourselves thinking it's only billionaires opposing those measures instead of boot strap blue collar conservatives?
January 16, 2026 at 8:15 PM
As is my time for people who failed math.
January 16, 2026 at 8:13 PM
Excellent example of a missing the point for the purpose of misconstruing the argument. This literal entire conversation is about the actual Democrat votes actively available in Congress.
January 16, 2026 at 8:08 PM
And yet we have a fatal misunderstanding of the fact that the group with the larger share of the vote controls the process.
January 16, 2026 at 7:53 PM
I would think the concept of "base democracy" was taught in elementary school.
January 16, 2026 at 7:21 PM
Ah yes, the leading edge of the left turning on Democrats in Congress because they can't pass impossible legislation due to being the minority in Congress. Excellent timing with midterms around the corner and Republicans winning the regerrymander race.
January 16, 2026 at 6:51 PM
Presumably, if he proves they cause cancer, he will require all people to duct tape them to their heads.
January 16, 2026 at 6:46 PM
What in the Da Vinci code is this
January 16, 2026 at 6:42 PM
This means nothing without the political alignment numbers. What's his approval with Republicans?
