My take has always been that the senators and representatives from Alaska have been sincerely reflective of Alaskans. Murkowski is the laziest Republican. Just like her constituents. She, and they, care about nothing. She’s honestly one of the most representative people you can currently vote for.

The circonflexe is so interesting to me. It’s where there once was an “s” sound somewhere in the word, which French decided was not necessary, but kept its remnant. L’hôpital still went to “hospital” and l’hôtel still became “hostel”. French is a language with history built in.

Oh I haven’t learned it yet, not really. I can hear and read it very well, but I’m still working on writing and speaking. It’s an incredible language and it even has built-in language history (which I think is fascinating) and I hope to spend more years figuring it out.

🤦🏻♂️ Parisians. Honestly les Parisiennes were some of the kindest, we met a few that were just so kind to me and my wife. If Paris is the worst city, I’ve got some good things coming.

To clarify, the rest of my experience with Parisiennes was absolutely delightful. They care a lot about their language and the history and their city but oh my god of the places I’ve tried to speak the local language they were so judgmental 😭
