People develop old color film in cold ECN-2. What is that? What time you take? Temperature? Hell if I know, been looking for that kind of info for 5 years.

Point is - when you try to search how to develop something - nothing comes up. Same thing nowadays with b&w - "oh it's standard, oh it's d-76" - what the fuck is a standard b&w process and what's the time and temperature, so much frustration and unnecessary obfuscation

Running a home lab myself and seeing direct results from my own and my clients films - it's virtually same, apart from a lot of cinefilm stocks being expired and fucky to get consistent colors from but that's a skill issue

And the ECN-2 chemistry handles expired film SO MUCH BETTER than C-41 does, like, why even bother. Online people say that it alters colors when you do this kind of cross-process but for the life of me I cant see any difference doing both

On this topic - we live in an age where there is so much information and many enthusiasts in film area but any info on ECN-2 is summarized as - "on it's too complex just use C-41 film". Process itself just needs to wash the soot from the film, it ain't that hard

Maybe I'm misinformed but that's how it looks at a glance

I ain't an expert but trying out variety of freshly roasted coffee blends kinda skews your view on an instant coffee, so you may not describe the difference, but you can feel the difference

Saddest part is - one roll is Kodak Kodacolor and I could've developed it this night alongside all the client film. The Big Oof.

Funnily enough now I have all the scans and analyses but hey, vacation time. If only I knew...

Funnily enough Tasma - being The cheap-ass film - has way more quality control because of military and air surveillance oriented factory and yet I wonder when (and if) they will dust off their old soviet color film machinery...
