✅ Full reimbursement of the £3 national fare cap
✅ A national target to improve bus speeds by 10%
✅ An exemption from any rise in fuel duty

The Welsh Government today announced an additional £2.67 million in bus revenue support. While we welcome this continued support for buses, it will not be sufficient to meet mounting costs.

Driver shortages are a persistent barrier to our industry. We are calling on the govt to:

⚠️ Lift the 50km regular service limit for 18/19 yr-olds
✅ Allow training before a provisional licence is issued

We support the aim to get more people onto public transport, but there's little evidence this will get more people out of cars.

The number of bus trips per person outside London rose from 25 to 28 last year according to the National Travel Survey, out today.

The national bus fare cap, and investment by operators in new routes, services, and vehicles, boosted the popularity of bus travel during 2024.
