Another run in the legs today! This one came after a humongous scotch egg and a shandy for lunch 💪🏻 oh, and it was bloody hot out! 😅🥵

It’s been a hot minute since I last ran, but this was needed to blow the cobwebs off! Thank god the weather was a bit cooler 💪🏻

67. Dark Souls II: SoFS
The last of the DS trilogy ticked off. Played largely in coop with @monty152.bsky.social which made the experience. Doesn’t deserve the flack it gets and I’ve been proven very wrong about this one. Definitely recommend

Then speaking of favourite albums, I couldn’t ever choose between these two. The kinda of albums where I’d not skip a single song

An album I relied on heavily during Uni. Slapped this on to get my head down and get work done. It’s up there as one of my favourite ever albums

A much more recent album, this just soothes my mind a bit. Sits somewhere between Tame Impala and Khruangbin. Calming vocals from some guest appearances and mellow soul

This has been my top album for a few years now. Feels like you’re listening to a movie soundtrack for life. I have it on in the background multiple times a week.

Shovelware:
These are games that I'm not exactly proud to have the platinums in. They don't deserve individual posts. I can only apologise for having these

62. Apex Legends (No plat, just 100%)
Used to play this game non stop upon release. A welcome change to what Warzone had become. Based in the same world as Titanfall, it makes me pine for another instalment to that franchise

61. What Remains of Edith Finch (No plat, just 100%)
A beautifully written story game with abstract presentation that tells of the unfortunate Finch family. Each tale offers something new in terms of gameplay and hits hard in the feels. This is gaming as art

60. Valiant Hearts: The Great War (No plat, just 100%)
One of the first games I played on the PS4, and I recommend it to everyone. Fundamentally a 2D side scroller, but I defy anyone not to feel emotional during the playthrough. Simple design but brilliantly presented. Go play it, go cry

59. Until Dawn
QTEs and decision form the base of the gameplay which supports a cast of not very likeable young adults trying to survive the night. Better than the Dark Picture games in my opinion. Fun to replay in order to see all the outcomes. Not sure it needed the recent remake

58. TOEM
Very cute and wholesome puzzler based on picture taking. You go from scenario to scenario fulfilling objectives with your camera. A lot of fun to be had, with an adorable art design and simple gameplay

57. Tacoma
You investigate a space station that's experienced and emergency. Through finding notes and listening back to conversations you piece together who is who and what happened. Has some level of intrigue, but not an awful lot else to make it stand out

56. Star Wars: Republic Commando
Originally released on the Xbox, the game is pretty dated now. Draws comparisons to the old Conflict Desert Storm games (classics!) with squad commands and orders. Has the generic grey/brown style of the time. Decent first person shooter from an older generation

55. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
A continuation of the last game, the protagonist is more likeable this time round. Bigger environments to explore, higher stakes and larger set pieces. Released in a bit of a buggy state, but overall a solid Star Wars game

54. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
A Soulslike, based in the world of Star Wars. I had a great time with the game despite not being overly fond of the protagonist. Set in my favourite era of the timeline, there was a lot to like

53. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage
More of the same with this sequel. I played the remakes back to back, with no real nostalgia and at a time where I had the blinkers on for platinums. By the time I'd finished this, I was Spyro'd out so you won't see the third game making an appearance...yet

52. Spyro the Dragon
Toys for Bob did a great job and bringing a classic up to date. Admittedly, I never played Spyro as a kid (please give me a Croc remake) but the mascot platformer was a blast to play through

51. Spiritfarer
A cosy, wholesome game focusing on love and loss, grief but also celebration. With resource management and base building, you'll get attached to the characters as the story progresses. Gorgeous art style and sound design.

Bluesky fully replacing the ‘other’ site now. It’s made it onto the top table!

50. South Park: The Stick of Truth
South Park doesnt have a great history with gaming. In fact, the majority are trash! But tSoT is the IP at its peak. Not just for fans of the show, but RPG fans and turn based combat fans will get a lot of mileage out of it. Nails the shows comedy and silliness too
November 26, 2024 at 11:31 AM
49. Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition
Massively underrated. Think, Infernal Affairs (sensational movie, go watch if you haven't seen it) meets GTA. Set in a bustling recreation of Hong Kong, the world feels authentic. The story is fast paced and gripping. Deserved a sequel that never came
November 26, 2024 at 11:31 AM
48. Skyrim
If I could platinum a game over and over, it'd be Skyrim. Yes I'd do it as a stealth archer every time, and yes I've owned it on nearly every platform. Back when Bethesda jank was still fun. I'm excited but equally as apprehensive to see what they do with ES6 when it finally arrives

47. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Insomniac again smashing it out the park. The visuals are stunning and gameplay is smooth. A reminder that there is still a place for console mascots, and R&C are easily up there with the best. The variety of the weapons in these games is as enjoyable as ever
