If you can, def go have a podiatrist remove it. I had a really bad one (to the point of almost passing out when I lightly stubbed my toe) and it was the best decision I could’ve made. They can destroy the nail bed in that spot so it doesn’t grow back ingrown too, so I haven’t had any problems since
