I’m a former Paralympian and Police Support Volunteer. I devised the Pegasus Scheme that helps disabled and vulnerable people contact the emergency services. It is currently used by eight police areas across the UK.

I have just returned home from hospital after a ten-day stay for the treatment of a recurring bowel issue .
Here in the UK healthcare is provided free of charge by the National Health Service that is funded by everyone through national insurance contributions.
Free healthcare at the point of need.

I have just been on what was Twitter and I don't like what I see . Unless something is done it could be used to destabilise democracies across the globe .

Can you imagine a world where politicians did the fighting instead of encouraging others to do it for them?
There was a time when Kings Queens and the gentry led their armies into battle.
Now the bloodshed seems to be reserved for combatants and civilians while politicians watch from afar.

I'm a wobbly person and speech impaired due to cerebral palsy. I was physically very active and could walk run and play sports but now I'm bedbound and almost completely paralysed due to the prolapse of a C3-4 cervical disc.

I find the relationship between Musk and Trump deeply disturbing and Musk's ownership of what was Twitter even more so.

I can no longer use my hands so all my posts are written with the aid of a eye gaze computer - it's an amazing piece of technology that tracks the movement of my eyes as I look at an onscreen keyboard.

I wish I had more just memories, I wish I still had the use of my arms and legs and that I wasn't so dependent upon others for my wellbeing - but I still have my thoughts and within my cranium I am still the physical being that I once was.

Today is my 68th birthday. Unfortunately due to health and disability issues I'm bedbound so I haven't been able to go anywhere and I've had no visitors apart from my carers.
Would you mind dropping me a line as it would help make me feel a little less isolated.
