Last Saturday we celebrated our 200th #parkrun at Riemer Park in #Munich. We had a lot of luck with the sun! And because it was on a 22, a lot of us were wearing a Tutu for the occasion :) We had 102 participants!

The 500-kg M5 mirror of ESO's ELT will be tipped & tilted 10 times per second, to correct atmospheric blurring.

With a 39-metre primary mirror, ESO's Extremely Large Telescope will have five mirrors in total. Two of them — M4 and M5 — will work together to cancel out atmospheric turbulence and vibrations due to wind and the telescope's mechanisms. We are now testing the sophisticated cell that will support the M5. Great parkrun yesterday at #Riemer Park in #Munich. And I'm not just saying that because I was the RD :D We celebrated both the 7th anniversary of #parkrun in #Germany and St. Nicholas Day.

Another great #parkrun at #Riemer Park today in #Munich. Our 187th.

It was perfect running weather: +1°C and clear blue skies. 55 runners and walkers (less than the last 3 weeks when we had over 80 participants).

Visitors from the UK (including Scotland), Poland and Germany (Göttingen).
