I don’t really have a point… just heartbreak. For that little girl, for every parent holding their child a little tighter tonight, and for a country that should never have let this sort of thing happen in the first place.

I can’t fathom what that child’s family is going through. I don’t know how I would function if something like this ever happened to my child… I don’t even know how I’d breathe, or eat, or make sense of anything. It’s unspeakably cruel.

My daughter is 11 and a half. I keep looking at her and feeling this wave of grief and fear for a world that can do something like this to someone her age.
