I let him choose: use the blast to try to escape Hell (soul vortex shenanigans) or augment it with his own soul to take out both the demons, and the devils that had pressed him into their service. He went with the latter. Fitting send-off for a character consumed by revenge to the last.

The barbarian character died in a battle with a planetar. For his birthday, we surprised the player with a session in Hell, with the others playing premade devils. He had to bring a bomb to a demon army and detonate it.

I ran a 5e campaign for two years over VTT (first Roll20, then Fantasy Grounds) for some strangers who had a bad experience with their first GM. Homebrew world, but nothing revolutionary. It remains one of the coolest things I've ever done. The group still talks about it years later.

The monster's attacks are just an opening to counter.

And if it crashes and just writes gibberish, that's a feature!

Based on my experience, I wouldn't be surprised if it feels like RSD is an ADHD thing because being rejected confirms the constant guilt and shame we have about "underperforming." It's easy to latch onto the negativity, but that doesn't make RSD its own symptom.
