(I can’t stand misogyny in achillean stories or in gay culture.) The two books also intertwine really well.

That combined with the fact they are real rivals just fills a whole book.
I really appreciate how Rachel Reid wrote such supportive female roles in “Game Changer“ and “Heated Rivalry“: friends, mothers, co-workers, partners of co-workers, … .

But it never got boring. I was so into how they talk to each other, how they feel and pine, what they secretly want, … The same with their physical interactions: the author manages to write so well that their moments on the ice, hidden kisses and se* are just really hot.

(but the author definitely knows hockey and how to build a book btw - but if this storyline was written by somebody else it would be … not good), it’s not soo many things happening besides them being themselves.

If the other person doesn’t believe things will get better in the US and Russia; that made me really sad.)
The way this book is executed makes it wonderful. What I mean by that: the plot isn’t over complicated and super complex

This is a whole book … and I can’t believe how the author holds the chemistry and the “what will happen next?!“-suspension all the time. The storyline isn’t like … out of this world. (Besides two sentences a character says:

I didn’t highlight any quotes, because I was in a state of: people KNOW how good this story is. They know how hot they are together. And if they don’t - they better believe it. 😉

I can’t believe I already finished this … in about 1,5 days. And it only took me “that long“ because I got it before I left to spend some hours in a forest. (With another person who I haven’t seen in a while, so it would have felt a little rude to read there.)

I also enjoyed the 2nd book in the series: “Until We Meet Again“, about 2 friends of Lark and Henry at the same university.
(XOXO can totally be read as a stand-alone though.)

the cover of the book, how Lark and Henry meet up at and outside of school, that Henry secretly watches Lark dance, the romance, queer joy and much more.
It touches deep topics, but the overall mood is never too heavy, since it doesn’t go extremely deep within those.

Since the new year at university starts in autumn, I enjoyed listening to this book in September. It was such a cozy read: in how they treat each other, which friendships they have and how Lark‘s tiny family has his back.

I liked everything: the male dancers, how Lark wears a skirt for dancing,

Henry to his rich parents; Lark ended up in a trailer park with his caring mum and sister later on.
When Lark gets a scholarship for university because of his dancing, he meets Henry again - who is a quarterback now.

How this cute story started:
Lark and Henry stayed together at the same children’s ward for their cancer treatments when they were 11 and 12, and got to know each other there.
After that they parted ways with Henry having a goodbye letter from Lark and both got back to their own lives:

The only thing that makes it halfway bearable is the new girl in school, Mack. She's smart, funny, and just as much of an outsider as Liz.
