there are very specific contexts that I'm okay with it (generally already silly/goofy/jokey circumstances) but otherwise yeah. no. it's so impersonal. don't like that it's like, making people into an audience/consumers instead of a genuine human connection? feels very influencer/capitalism-poisoned

yeah, this. it's just a term about one's relationship to the means of production.

that said, imo I feel like it's becoming an increasingly unhelpful and divisive term. I've seen people use it to genuinely demonize artists and to make nonsensical, convoluted, bad points about class consciousness
