Since this was the first cool August weekend in ages, I took the weekend off and went for a ride. 623 miles in Eastern Oregon, much of it on back roads, some paved some not. Saw a few historic buildings too. Photos on Flickr.

Been doing some test riding yesterday and will do some more today. Here they actually take you on a 20 min off road ride, which is very unusual for test rides.

Since all the RV spots are booked for the next 6 months, I cheated and booked a tent site next to the parking lot. The ranger didn't say anything, so it's okay.

Since it was sunny and warm (62F) went for a ride today. Not a huge ride, only about 60 miles with 15 miles of gravel, but it was nice getting out again.
We both need to get away from all the crazy shit going on, even for a few hours.

I had no offroad experience or training, took no tools, no spare parts, and no tubes. Nor did I know how to change a tube. The bags were held with bungy cords and shifted on every bump.
