(This sounds like I'm mansplaining union stuff to someone who is an expert at it, and that's not my intent)
But it's realistic to assume that some will decide that these options are not suitable for their current position in life. And for them they will have no choice but to be recast.

Essentially a lot of FEH's VAs will now be forced to pay union dues, with the option of either being stuck in union work (with the benefit of health insurance if they can earn enough) or be fi-core, which is essentially them paying money for no benefits other than being able to access union work
December 18, 2025 at 4:42 AM
I don't disagree with your points. But they further support my issue: For those who have non-union roles they do not want to give up, or for those who do not see the economic benefits of being in the union, being told that they must be a part of the union (or be fi-core) makes no sense

(3/2) I should clarify: I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to be in a union! I love it that workers are moving towards unionization. But being FORCED to join a union is another thing!
December 18, 2025 at 3:42 AM
(2/2) That aside, if Nintendo becomes union, Taft-Hartleys aside, all their voice actors become "must joins" for the union. And if the amount of voice over work that someone is getting does not justify the fees and dues of being in a union, then it means that Nintendo now has to look for new VAs.
December 18, 2025 at 3:41 AM
(1/2) Even though statistics show that there are around twice (maybe more) the amount of non-union voice over work as there is union voice over work? And the fact that people who join the union now have to pay union dues while being restricted to about half the amount of work options as before?

Why not actually counter the argument with something factual rather than ad hominem? Oh, that's right, cause you don't have anything!
December 16, 2025 at 6:29 PM
Cause with how many voice actors there are working in Fire Emblem Heroes, going union would mean that Nintendo will have to fire a lot of voice actors if they are non-union. That's a lot of work for Nintendo, and it isn't very worker-centric either.
December 16, 2025 at 6:28 PM
Perhaps when a SAG-AFTRA contract doesn't make cast members a "must join." But that's never going to happen, even though forcing people into a union defeats the purpose of workers rights. So a franchise as big as Fire Emblem isn't going down that route.

What a shame. I enjoyed your performances.

Easy on Trump... Yet villainizing Biden. It's obvious what side the Hamas supporters are really on.

It was the fakest apology ever that gave off the vibe of "I'm sorry I have to deal with the consequences"

It was mostly due to people booing her when the character she voiced in Nikke showed up in an official stream.

A disability does not excuse awful behavior.

Excuse you, it was these VAs who are the harassers, bullying Jacob Takanashi just for doing his job. Those VAs are simply being held accountable for their cyberbullying now.

Truly a "rules for thee not for me" you're giving off here. Solidarity is dead and this post is proof of it.

Believe me, I am all for AI protections. But why is it that Hoyo has not signed the interm agreement when they have so with other unions with non-AI clauses? The answer of course is because of this attempt of monopolizing Genshin to only Union VAs.
March 28, 2025 at 10:02 PM
Under Khoi's explanation, non-Union VAs are still essentially pressured into joining the Union even if they don't get any benefits. Linking the thread shows that this truly is about more than just "AI protections"
March 28, 2025 at 10:01 PM
As a part of what SAG wants, they also demand that all VAs recruited must be union VAs. This means under their demands, no VA can work for Hoyo if they do not work in the US. Hardly fair, and reasonable for Hoyo to be hesitant to sign the agreement.
