Correction: the housing crisis is due to the Californian housing crisis. Lack of security isn't necessarily due to this. I didn't clarify this before, apologies.

Tijuana's been having a terrible, terrible housing and security crisis for years now; it's one of the most dangerous cities in the world due to a mix of criminal activity, police corruption, and Californians moving over due to the Californian housing crisis.
I hope this gives a perspective on this

Your neighbor Jesus isn't the one fucking your life up; It's the US government, it's the Mexican government, it's the cartels and the rich privileged person, it's the companies. I don't have much of a moral lesson or anything for this, as I'm not sure of a possible solution or anything

This happens especially with things like electronics (which have archaic tariffs for US goods), apparel, and food. Not only do these companies gentrify and hoard land to avoid paying a bit of taxes, they decide that exporting goods 2 to 3 times is worth more that selling it normally. It's fucked up

I live in the same state, I can confirm this is true. It's been a thing for a while now, with most of US goods with the "Made in Mexico" tag actually. What they don't tell you is that not only do they import them to avoid taxes, but they re-import back to Mexico and charge 2-3 times more to us
