Something a little different than my normal photos. Sometimes, you get tired of shooting the same things and need to switch it up 👌🏻

I don't want to stay in Michigan forever, but I'm sure as hell going to enjoy it while I'm here ✋🏻

I live for these special moments in nature. Deep in the rainy wilderness, not a person for miles. Just me and the swallows. #birds #wildlife #canon

Non-human animals are more conscious than most would think. They aren't just meat robots running on instinct. They have rich inner lives. They feel things. They get scared. And they deserve our respect.

American Goldfinch

Walking through the woods with my wife this weekend, I said, "I'd really love to get a photo of a Goldfinch some time." And not even 5 minutes later, there he was!

I may be a Grand Rapids guy now, but I actually grew up in the #Detroit area. Somehow, after all these years, I've never really taken photos there. Until now, that is. 👀

American Coot

I've been trying to get a good shot of one for years now. They're pretty rare, especially here in Michigan, but every spring, they migrate through some of our local lakes. Normally, they keep their distance, but this was a young one, all alone, and he didn't seem too freaked out.

Either I'm a disney princess, or this chipmunk is way too friendly. He kept coming closer and closer to me as if he wanted to have his photo taken 😅

I think robins are extremely underrated. They're so common here in #Michigan that they're our state bird, and even I become desensitized to their beauty.

My first wild owl photo in years, all thanks to some friends of mine for the tip and for letting me borrow their 600mm.

I used to exclusively photograph wildlife, but over the past few years I've been exploring other avenues. Well this year, #wildlife is back, baby.

Does this count as a #wildlife, #landscape, or #aerial photo?

The best part of my job is being able to travel all around Western Michigan. I see places I never knew existed.

Photography is just glorified show and tell. I'm trying to make it less about me, and more about what's out there waiting for you.

I haven't done wildlife photography in a while, but I miss it dearly and definitely want to do more this year!
