1939 decorated envelope for those who like writing #letters @letterappsoc.bsky.social Revd Aldwyn was in hospital for "stoppage of water" & his brother Bernard was trying to cheer him up & make the nurses laugh. Small son of Aldwyn's friend wanted to know "Daddy is the Archangel Cox getting better?"

Hot day in Brisbane for the fun run - Bridge to Brisbane. 10km started at 6am, 4.5km started at 10. Too hot for running! But opera singers &grand piano entertaining runners on the way

Am reading WW1 letter from Bernard, gunner at Palmers Green, defending London from Zeps in 1918 with a 3 inch gun. He says the code word received by 'phone was 'Red London' meaning enemy aircraft were on the way!

An entertaining telegram story about Revd Aldwyn Machell Cox, African missionary, told by my family in 1950s.

Telegram sent from Africa:
'Cox made Canon.Publish'

Instead it arrived in London as:
'Cox mad, cannot publish.'
