A slightly slept on Blue Note title gets a Tone Poet reissue

Been looking forward to this for quite a while. For anyone interested in Jazz Kissa. Worth checking the website

Got this today. A welcome reissue of a classic Pharoah album that previously was impossible to get without paying a fortune. Would have been happy with just the album but additionally there is a live album of two very different versions of Harvest Time together with some very cool extras thrown in.

Based on what I have read this should be really good.

The always delightful We Jazz magazine arrived today and includes an interview with Oren Ambarchi and what looks like a fascinating photo essay on Juju and Black Fire Records.

It's John Coltrane's birthday today so celebrating with a day of his music. I forgot I had this which is a recording of him at the Half Note Club in May 65 with the classic quartet.

For any lover of books and jazz memorabilia this is an enjoyable browse. Of course the likely prices are eye watering.

The BBE J Jazz series has been a constant joy. Playing this tonight from Masaru Imada. It's mainly him in a trio and sounds fantastic.

Let's see how this goes. Starting with the wonderful Tina Brooks True Blue from 1960. Japanese pressing of one of my favorite Blue Note recordings. Blue Note are reissuing this on November 17th as part of the Classic Series.
