We really ought to do something special this year. Will let you know how it turns out.

That second emoji suggests you've been stung by a jellyfish while shopping. That takes real effort!

Done?!? We haven't started! I doff my cap to you, the Queen of Christmas Planning.

We might do it this year, but it comes down to what my Dad wants to do. We'll definitely put some lights on the front of the house and in the front window. It's a combined task with cleaning the thousands of leaves out of our gutters.

We haven't put the Christmas tree up for the last two Christmases. It's just not the same without my Mum here.

At least you have an excuse. For me it's just old age!
November 9, 2025 at 8:30 PM
Definitely at this time of year. I'd quite happily hibernate if I could.

I've never been one for buying clothes, most of what I have are my brother's cast-offs or gifts. Which I really appreciate, because I have no fashion sense whatsoever.

I say that to myself all the time, but I still end up with loads of stuff that I think might be useful to hold onto. My father is a master at this - he has nearly 90 years's worth, plus some of his father's stuff too!

Hopefully when the weather cools down and things stop growing. Sun+Rain=Jungle
October 20, 2025 at 6:07 PM
So true. Even if it's sitting on your haunches weeding the garden in the rain, which I found myself doing again this afternoon.
October 19, 2025 at 6:54 PM
Is gardening ever worth it?!? We always had an immaculate garden, so I'm trying to at least make it look like someone lives here!
October 9, 2025 at 7:41 PM
Heh heh. And still crazy today, though the sun was shining this time. Even my aches have aches!
October 5, 2025 at 7:16 PM
We're seeing the edge of a storm too. But there I was sitting on our brick weave driveway, scraping the moss out of the gaps with a knife in the rain and wind. Yes, I'm crazy.

That takes me back to my Uni days. Halls neighbour Lucy introduced me to that album. Good times...
September 26, 2025 at 8:25 PM
I washed and vacuumed out my Dad's car last weekend - there's still lots of my Mum's stuff in there (gloves, spare reading glasses, etc). I want to clear it all out, but it's not really my place to do so.
September 11, 2025 at 6:50 PM
That's outrageous! I hope their genitals catch fire...
September 1, 2025 at 6:44 PM
They were just talking about that on the radio tonight. Especially the people discussing what to have for dinner on speakerphone while walking around the supermarket. Guess what? I don't care what you're having for dinner!

Looking forward to getting this in the UK soon. Looks amazing!

I, on the other hand was at a Richard Ashcroft concert. Which was ace, but I was still glad to get to bed.
June 28, 2025 at 8:31 PM
I kinda do the same. I cook a big Sunday meal, which lasts for two or three days, plus enough vegetables to get through to Friday. It's not haute cuisine, but it'll do.
June 23, 2025 at 8:55 PM
Took a long walk this morning. Might have been nearly 30C, but I was still in jeans, long sleeved t-shirt and sun hat. The sun and I don't make happy bedfellows.
