Mostly music and books here. Partial to a charity shop and an old newspaper cutting. Formerly @100Covers on Twitter, author of a couple of books and used to sometimes write for the Independent.
Hmmm…

Been after the 12” of this for… oh, about 45 years. Finally got around to tracking it down. Looks unplayed too 😃 #ElvisCostello #RadarRrecords

Charity shop prices for vinyl getting a bit ridiculous, I’d argue.

Delighted to pick up these two the other day, both firsts (although Spanner is a 2nd reprint). Both in fine condition. #johnlennon

I love this review of Till the Band Comes In, Scott Walker’s fifth solo album, November 1970. “A kept cowboy…” 😄

Back from a couple of fairs with some nice US promos and a Roxy collection, bought mostly for the B-sides.

Just used old newspapers online to track down a half-remembered Au Pairs gig I went to (turned out to be a RAR @ Poplar Town Hall, Nov 80). Shame it’s just Lesley now - not much of a reunion, really.

I remembered I saw the Au Pairs in the very early 80s at a benefit gig in a civic hall in E. London, so set about finding out exactly where and when. Trawling through online music papers, I finally tracked it down. It was Poplar, 8/11/80 - exactly 45 years ago! Brilliant gig, as I recall.

Scans of the legendary rock mag ZIGZAG now online. (I don’t expect many likes - you’d have to be my age or older to remember it 😁)

Richard and Linda Thompson’s 1975 tour started 50 years ago this week. Captured on this terrific CD. Anyone see them live? I caught them once, on their 1978 tour.

The 1977 cult ghost flick Full Circle or the Haunting of Julia starring Mia Farrow just had a rare screening at #Picturehouse cinemas. The OST by Colin Towns is a brilliant, unsettling mix of piano and synth.
@stuartmaconie.bsky.social one for the Xmas Freakzone?

Elvis Costello competition, NME 1979. Too late to enter? I know all the answers 😆

These letters in NME from March 1977 are a reminder of how little known Nick Drake’s name was less than three years after his death. When did this change?
