Told mum I was eating more mushrooms. She found some on a walk, but suggested I'd be happier not trying them. I agree.

If you see this, post an album cover with a motor vehicle on it.

Once upon a time, I lived in this building. Six three-bedroom units on a double residential lot, in an area of single family homes. Great way to increase density - and everyone had a front and back door, thanks to two sets of stairs. Why aren't we building more of these?

Sometimes I write #poetry, but I still like to keep it light and have a happy ending. Inspired by the Coast's Annual Sex Survey. #poem

Not hard to imagine - they never got rid of them in Vancouver. Always wondered why Halifax got rid of them.

Min, from the temple of Min at Koptos, circa 3300 BC, at @ashmoleanmuseum.bsky.social. Remnant mounted on a pedestal to match original 4 metre height. The rear view made me think of @museumbums.bsky.social. The front view...the closer arm is grasping the stump of a large piece of added limestone.

Another Bridge Terminal observation...the stop posts are illuminated, but cast no light on the signs on the posts.

Why yes, I did spend the better part of a day busing and walking to see two piles of rocks...maybe this is why my kids don't want to travel with me. Maen Ceti (Arthur's Stone) and The Great Cairn, neothlic burial sites on the Gower peninsula, #Wales.

When you were allowed to get closer and touch the stones, it was actually much harder to see and appreciate the structure, and get nice pictures. Pic from my visit in 1972. I've visited other stones you can touch, but don't - seems wrong.

Llandaff Cathedral Bell Tower. Unused since 1484, when the bells were installed in the Cathedral proper. No more running up the hill to ring them. A protected site since 1923. Time scales in the UK are not like Canada.

Nothing updates a 12th century Cathedral like a mid-century modern pulpitum, raised on concrete arches, with an aluminum Jesus. Added as part of post-war repairs to Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff. Consistent with the building's series of architectural revisions.

I don't normally explore caves, but I'm on vacation. If this is my last post, it may have been a bad idea. No regrets.

The Gorsedd Stones in Gorsedd Gardens, Cardiff, have received some much-needed landscaping since I was last here. You can see them now. Stones are from the 1899 Eisteddfod festival, moved here around 1905 (altar stone moved to Bute Park some decades ago). #wales

Couldn't resist trying a glass of colour-changing iced bisexualiTEA at @queeremporium.bsky.social. From the change in taste, I'm guessing the clear liquid you add is mostly sugar, but I didn't pay enough attention in high school chem to know how it works. Fun and refreshing.

Stepping back in time at St Fagans museum in Cardiff - and feeling rather old when one of the displays is a 1980s house.

No, I was not visiting a risqué London "club." This was the respectable and family friendly (though of questionable taste) Clink Prison Museum.

Visited the ruins of Lewes Priory. Built around 1080, one of the largest monastic churches in England, and demolished after the dissolution of the monasteries in 1537. The ruins are a fraction of the original site, and this pic just one view of the ruins. Van for scale. Much to think about here.

The @ashmoleanmuseum.bsky.social includes this 1536 crude satirical dish. According to the item description, "Art of this type of subject matter has tended not to survive." No wonder. Nice that it did - it has to be seen to be believed. More at the link. NSFW. www.ashmolean.org/dish-composi...
