Of all the ships he could’ve chosen, he chose the one which got railed by biplanes and whose sister ship was forced to stay in the Norwegian fjords the entire war out of fear of being wrecked by the RN.

A true leader and sailor if there ever was one. It’s a terrible thing that he didn’t get to live to see even the true end of the war due to being on a ship when the heart attack happened.
Could he have been saved if he’d been on land? I suppose that’s a answer only a good doc would know.
