I'm going to give a shout out to Le Noise. Over the years, some of Neil's more experimental albums have fallen short. This one doesn't. Neil's voice, Old Black & some good-weird production. It's like an acoustic album delivered with the ferocity of Crazy Horse but still with space for light & shade.

I remember King Diamond making a total knob of himself in an interview with Kerrang's Dave Dickson. They were discussing the occult and the invocation of spirits. Dickson clearly knew his stuff. King Diamond did not.

She didn't just turn a blind eye. She provided the funds to pay off his accuser.

The MC5 were so good live they releases a live album as their debut. Plenty would argue that Kick Out The Jams is their definitive work (though I think High Time sees them at their creative peak even though it came too late in their chaotic career to be a commercial success.)

No Pete Townshend on any of The Who's albums or John Paul Jones on Led Zeppelin records then?

If you aren't awed by Avebury and the whole connected landscape around it - Silbury Hill, the West Kennet Avenue, Fyfield Down, the West Kennet Long Barrow and more - then that's really on you.

Rotten is Queen Elizabeth II paying off Andrew's accuser to the tune of millions. Not really the "wonderful woman" the tabloids want to portray her as. Never mind losing his titles. He needs to stand trial.

Oasis and Farage both have in common that they are massively overrated wankers who have divorces and expensive lifestyles to finance and both of them will happily rinse their own fanbases of every last penny to achieve this.

Julian Cope's book Japrocksampler is an essential read on the topic. Bands like the Flower Travellin' Band, Speed Glue & Shinki and Les Rallizes Denudes are well worth exploring.

For anyone growing up in Britain in the late 70s, Nantucket Sleighride was the sound of Sunday lunchtimes.

They appear to be channelling fellow Japanese heavy psych band the Flower Travellin' Band who covered this in fine style in 1970. The FTB's Anywhere album also includes a superb cover of Black Sabbath's Black Sabbath.

Bon Scott died 12 days after that aired. Being born just a shade too late to see 'DC with Bon has always been a massive musical regret of mine.
