‘s ceramics program, where he had recently completed his MFA. Negoro transferred to Alfred to complete her BA before going on to her MFA. After graduating, Negoro launched her own studio and taught in art schools across the country before coming to UConn in 1965 to launch its ceramics program.

“One of six incarcerees to work for the short-lived Heart Mountain ceramics plant, she met and trained with Daniel Rhodes there. Rhodes, a ceramicist who went on to author the “clay and glaze bible,” Clay and Glazes for the Potter (1957), encouraged Negoro to apply to Alfred University.

…each delicate porcelain form is set against a weathered shipping pallet, a stark reminder of the industries responsible for the fragility of whale populations worldwide. Each year, thousands of whales are struck by container ships, just like the one in 2005.
