This is something we think a LOT about with GAMERella - how to run a weekend jam that is anti-crunch and chill. We give them the theme ahead of the jam, and don't do judged prizes (everyone gets a trophy and some cool goodies). Especially since we have a lot of early-career and first time jammers.
