I really wish there was a resource to find female contractors - I'd look for them in earnest. Also, anytime a male contractor speaks to me with the same respect and tone they use for my partner, they increase their chances of getting the job EXPONENTIALLY. In case any of them are paying attention.

Nope. The majority of them have been like this. The one I was scheduling a bid with today did it three times before I finally asked if they would ask multiple times if they were speaking to a man. They did not answer that question, but they did apologize.
