Was going through a GameFAQ for gen 1 Pokemon tonight and found this incredible section on the Mew glitch that delicately goes over the consequences to a borderline ethical degree. Not in a copyright sense, but in a thinly-veiled "did I just kill that fictional guy" sense.

RetroAchievements is great if you are the kind of infinitely curious person to exhaust games and explore every corner. I'm on my third (technically fourth) playthrough of Kingdom Hearts, a game I haven't played in 20+ years, and I'm still learning new things about it.

Finally broke into the top ten percent of RetroAchievements users last night, and I feel pretty good about it. I could have gotten way past this way sooner if I had focused on short games with high points, but I'm trying to have fun with this at my pace, y'know?

Happy to say I just barely managed to be the 50th person to earn the RetroAchievement badge for the Satoru Iwata Memorial Event. The best part of this was learning to love Balloon Fight, when previously I had little personal connection to the old "black box" NES games.

The worst part about being almost done mastering a set I initially looked at and thought I'd never come close to finishing is that now I have to look back and my past cleared-but-not-mastered games and debate about if I want to put my hand on the stove.

I put the game down yesterday, satisfied with clearing it. It called back to me like the green goblin mask today...

I haven't touched UFO 50 in a couple months, but in exchange I've finally been digging into RetroAchievements. It's fun, compelling, and probably ruining my brain. You know U50 is hard when this is how I choose to relieve my stress.

Honestly, would not be surprised if this is due to an agreement between Toei and Bandai. Bandai did an FDS adaptation of another Fushigi Comedy series about a year before, I think? Still, VERY funny to see this, of all games, get this much screen time.
