Food Insecurity is a newly available indicator from CDC PLACES and is included in the 2025 Data Book. It illustrates the areas where people are unable to afford nutritionally adequate and safe foods.

The Bicycle Facilities indicator was reintroduced for the 2025 Data Book, based on new information collected as part of the #CuyahogaGreenways initiative. It shows which areas have access to on- and off-street bike facilities.

The land use section of the 2025 Data Book includes Building Density as a new indicator. It’s a calculation of the estimated area of buildings per area of land.

Another new indicator in the 2025 Data Book is Retirement Income. It shows the locations of households that receive retirement, survivor, or disability income from sources like an IRA, 401(k), or pension. Note that it doesn’t include Social Security income.

One of the Data Book's new indicators is Living Arrangements of Older Adults. Using Census Bureau #ACSdata, it looks at whether people 65 and older live alone, with a spouse or partner, with a child or other relative, or with a non-relative.
