I kinda agree. I think a lot of it looks great but there is a sheen of 'fake' that covers many of his more recent films. Maybe it's down to colour grading and digital filters which affects a lot of modern movies. And he does love some obvious and ropey CGI here and there. Still, I really enjoyed it.

Saw it last night. Yeah, it's not a reboot, rather a closer adaptation of the novel with King onboard as a producer. I enjoyed it. Well made with a charismatic star. Tonally it's a bit goofy/silly but also pretty dark, angry, violent and gory. Not a four quadrant movie for sure. Tough sell.
