It’s not over though, is it? One bad decision is not remedied by another.

…So I condemn the taking of a life in this way without reservation. Then I am afraid I have to condemn the harm done and yet to be done by the loser of that life.

…And they were urged on by you, you miserable, pussy-grabbing, fraudulent, criminal piece of hypocritical excrement.

“Britain First” roared Thomas Nair as he brutally slaughtered the wonderful Jo Cox, in the name of toxic Nationalism. The same sort of Nationalism promoted by Kirk and Trump.

…Now Trump. A televised eulogy. Not a word on gun control. Just the entirely predictable bile about the radical left. It wasn’t the radical left who launched violent insurrection on Capitol Hill. It was the MAGA far right, carrying multiple weapons including guns...

…so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights." Well Charlie, you’ve practiced what you preached. You join the hundreds of little children whose lives were cut short by your sacred Amendment.

He was a promulgator of multiple false narratives and crackpot conspiracy theorists. He was a homophobe, a misogynist and a white supremacist. Then this: "I think it's worth it, I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year…

…I’m not going to say ‘but’. That would devalue what I have said, above. So, I’ll simply offer some associated observations.

Charlie Kirk had deeply unpleasant views. He claimed to be a Christian but espoused none of Christ’s precepts. He lacked any vestige of compassion, still less empathy.

Murder is arguably the most heinous of crimes. Nobody deserves to be executed for their philosophies, however repugnant. Some come very close, I know. Politically motivated assassinations are the enemy of truth and democracy…

Captain Carcrash who is never more than a second from a blunder. He persisted with an effective BBD. His behaviour was embarrassing. That doesn’t mean we’ve got the right manager now, we probably haven’t, but let’s look beyond the end of Shoreham Street next time.

Our results last season masked generally dire performances. Wilder talked front foot but played on the retreat. He made good players look bad by playing them out of position. He failed to make a replacement for Souttar an absolute priority. Even when he did he hardly played Holding, preferring…

No it wasn’t. We need to grow up as a club. Football is no longer, if it ever has been, about the upanatem underdog. It isn’t about one of our own or knowing the name of the tea lady. It isn’t about thumping the badge. That’s all parochial claptrap.

I’m a Blade. Hecky is straight and open. He’s not one for bollocks.

Personally I would prefer Cooper to concentrate on his excellent goalkeeping! On a serious note, when was this published. I rather suspect it’s out of date, especially on the data side.

There was. Des Taylor. I don’t know where he is now.

I saw David and Peter Beagrie together gave a master class of wing-play against Palace away. Forget the year. We win 2-1. Kev Arnott dominated midfield. ❤️⚔️

Whether he’s the right man remains to be seen, but the move away from the stifling parochiality of Wilder and his sycophantic fan club is much to be welcomed. Football matches are won by quality, not locality.

Fudtastic!

‘Better than Wilder’ is not a high bar. Being a Blade and thumping the badge are not quality marks or performance indicators. Other clubs seem to manage without it and without him. There will be no queue, of clubs of any stature, for his services. We need a modern, progressive coach.

I profoundly agree with your ‘not Dyche’ stance. I think Edwards may be Boro bound. It would be negligent not to at least ask about Rosenior. You never know. We simply must be an attractive prospect for a young managerial talent with PL aspirations.
June 13, 2025 at 1:45 PM
On this occasion I would Al. I saw every game and the results masked mainly poor performances. His sterile, negative tactics cost us on a number of occasions, notably at Wembley where yet again he played on the retreat. He’s not as universally popular amongst Blades as it might appear.
June 13, 2025 at 1:22 PM
Might it not be untenable now? He’ll know that he’s on borrowed time and constant scrutiny, won’t he? He certainly wouldn’t be my long term plan. We need to move away from our stifling corner shop mentality, of which Wilder is a central and, in my view, divisive part.

I think it’s too early to say that Cannon has misfired.
