Great article by @markhertling.bsky.social . My father served in Germany during the occupation & in the 1960s. Once, while on guard duty, he helped a Czech guard defect. He spoke fluent Slovak & Russian.We had family in the Eastern Block and I remember the great sorrow my family felt for them.

So nice to see someone knowledgeable say TJAGs were relieved rather than all the people who keep saying JAGs were relieved.
