I’m trying to defend English speaking actors outside of the US who would be negatively affected by SAG’s attempt to make hoyo games into union projects, and hoyo cuz they should not be manipulated by foreign unions into who they’re allowed and not allowed to hire

But most of the cast is already in a union AND breaking their unions rules by auditioning and joining a non union project, some of them have been in genshin since its release in 2020 and instead of replacing the VAs with AI, they’ve either waited for them to be available or hire new VAs

Are there any prominent unions in the United States other than SAG-AFTRA for actors? Where they feel so comfortable in their position as a guild for actors that they demand a $3K entry fee? Where they can blacklist anyone who doesn’t follow by their rules? That sounds more like a mafia than a union

That doesn’t excuse the fact that SAG is trying to strong arm hoyo into being a union project, the game devs have a say in what they do with their business, including who they hire, and foreign VAs have a say if they want to be in the guild or not, VAs shouldn’t be forced to pay 3k as an entry fee
