Ah. I probably worry about economic leverage/concentration more than anything—exacerbating existing trends. However, I think that economic leverage will accrue more to people who know how to deploy capital than to people with meta cognitive skills.

I doubt I’m very representative, but I worry much more about not having better guardrails for things like suicidal ideation than I do about the ascendancy of metacognitive engineering. I don’t think I even understand why that would be a worry.

I had to unfocus my eyes periodically while reading that article because I worried the dumbness might permanently infiltrate my brain otherwise. I couldn’t read it all. I don’t know how people can without their heads exploding.

This is precisely the kind of “pragmatism” that is dragging the party down. We need bold vision that excites the voting public. The median voter doesn’t care about the details.
