Hartford History - Yarimar Caban aka Mima released her first album (self titled) in 2005. On March 18, 2006, she overflowed the city’s iconic third place, La Paloma Sabanera, with a trio which had her on guitar and vocals accompanied by an upright bass and marimba. Mima’s latest release is Bachaqué

What a great day for an outdoor BBQ!!

Chef Peter from Formaggio Kitchen is set up in front of Lord Hobo’s on the corner of Windsor and Hampshire St.

He’ll be there for this Super Bowl weekend and will be back in mid March for a regular outdoor presence.

The Puerto Rico based environmental group El Puente - ELAC had its 5th Caminata Puerto Rico ante el Cambio Climático (Puerto Rico Walk in the face of Climate Change). The day included workshops, art creation, bird census taking, and yes, taking the streets over … loudly.

Cidra's hydrographic system consists mainly of Lago de Cidra reservoir, located in the municipality. The reservoir, which was built in 1946, provides water to several areas in the island.
A winding waterway in the center of the image heading upwards with lush vegetation on either side. The background contains a rang of hills with a line house perched on top of it. The top third of the image consists of a blue sky with a series of white, pillow like clouds and a foreboding dark, rain clouds signifying an incoming storm.

As part of their participatory budgeting initiative, Cambridge, MA will start a process of having street signs in English and an Indigenous language (www.wbur.org/news/2023/10...)

Here’s an example from Port Angeles, WA where all street signs are in English and the indigenous Klallam language.

My "stoop" faces the road into the 'Sector' of our 'Barrio' as well as our next door neighbor Ívan. Golden hour in the AM brings out the beautiful palette that is the Caribbean.
A road intersects the scene heading downwards from left to right. In the foreground one sees the beginning of a driveway with a fence running parallel to it and some tropical plants framing it. One stand out tree is a papaya tree that loons beyond the frome of the picture. Across the street is a cement wall framed with trees and, in the center, a two story cement house. The walls and the home are painted in the same pastel green.
