Start by looking up your local indivisible group or check online to see if there's a may day protest near you and go to that; you'll almost certainly meet people who can give you clearer ways to fight back locally.

I'd love to see dems talk about prosecuting ALL those who are facilitating the kidnapping and transportation of legal residents without due process. Ice agents (as well as ice impersonators), bus drivers, airplane pilots, etc. Make sure they know they will face consequences for what they're doing.

As someone who gets full-body hives if I eat food with certain dyes on this list and would love to see them banned - there isn't a ban here on these dyes, so what are you bitching about? They have a "plan to phase out" dyes on a voluntary basis. It's ALREADY voluntary to use them or not.

You keep agreeing "very true" but you seem to disagree that a shit person can write something that's surface-level good. I'm pointing out that Rowling's true, supremacist views were always there. You can read almost anything and come away with a positive message if you don't look closely enough.

That's why I mentioned close reading. The surface level theme is "love beats hate." A marginally deeper level reading is "seeking power is righteous if you're good, wicked if you're evil - and those traits are determined at conception." Like gender! 🤮

If you really look at the series as a whole, though, what changes? You still have to be magic "enough" to participate in wizard society. House elves are still enslaved. I could go on, but with a really close reading, you can see that she was always interested in keeping the marginalized down.

Interesting. I was born in 90 and needed two mmr boosters in '16 and '18 because I was rubella non immune. I think even if you were born after '89 it's a good idea to get checked.

Right? I had to take my kid to Ed for strep because his primary was booked out for months and urgent care books up for the entire day at 12:01 am and doesn't take walk ins. My kid just needed antibiotics and I knew it, but we had nowhere else to go.
