crazy to believe I first joined the Ukrainian marines six years ago. Serving for four years one of which was mostly spent in Russian captivity and then taking a year off to rehabilitate myself mentally to then joining the International legion in GUR and continuing service in my 5th year here.

Our prison cell in the Donetsk Pre-Trial Detention Center was designed for solitary confinement but held five of us. Forced to sing the Russian anthem daily, endure beatings, and sleep on the floor in freezing conditions, the regime sought to break us. Life had no value here, only survival.

Let's be honest my bedspace is the coolest
it's clear that the regime is terrible, but let’s not fool ourselves into thinking HTS are liberators. Both sides are equally destructive, and in the end, it’s the Syrian people who will suffer most. That said, I can only hope they take down as many Russians and jihadists in their ranks as possible.

Throwback to 2017, when my friends and I joined the Northern Sun Battalion, a former FSA unit within the SDF. They embodied the true spirit of a free Syria. Sadly, the Free Syrian Army no longer represents its original purpose and meaning, it was hijacked by extremists.

Out of a the few hundred who managed to try and escape only 40 managed to actually escape the first group got to ukrainian territory after 9 days while the other group was captured 10km from Ukrainain lines which at the time was 140km from mariupol. I surrendered alongside 1000 other soldiers
