* this is not targeted towards those who are genuinely saving usernames for creators. This is targeted at people who take the username wanting attention from the creator, demand compensation for the username to be relinquished, or straight up refuses to give up the username bc "I took it first"

It hasn't been like that for everyone, sadly. Even though some people have been nice about it, there have been a couple that refuse to give it back, some want to be recognized or financially compensated, and it forced them to have to use alternative usernames or add yt to their username.
