Seeing winter constellations for the first time feels like seeing an old friend. ❤️ I took my dog out late tonight and saw Orion had appeared in the east. I was able to say a shehecheyanu for seeing him for the first time this season. It felt so special. I love being Jewish. ❤️

More pics from my observatory job! The first is of the Milky Way, ft our galactic center in Sagittarius. The second was taken from the eyepiece of our largest diameter telescope with a nebula filter, the Swan Nebula, a stellar nursery about 4200 light years away. Both were taken on my phone.
