I get it. Before I got in at MT, I had applied at 40 other places within a couple week's time, even stuff I knew I'd hate doing. Eventually got lucky with a buddy referring me to a telecom company. Spent years climbing cell towers to get financially stable. And I was lucky.

I worked at a Medieval Times for a year, not because I got picked through applications, but because I showed up at the castle everyday before the shows and asked about the job, the managers, who was around. You still need the app, but that won't get their attention most times

The only times I've ever got hired were times where I either got referred by a friend who worked at the same place, or went directly to a place I wanted to work and bugged them until they gave me an interview. Not once has a simple application worked, and I haven't done one in 12 years

Felt weird to me, maybe I'm paranoid given the state of the internet, I dunno. I've had people tell me they'd scrape my work for AI shit, and people stalk me across platforms for my political stuff. Maybe I'm overreacting

Not what I said. I think you ask before using somebody else's work for yours. Or since I'm a commission artist, ask me to make one for you lol

Side note- please don't interpret my commentary on veterans or the military as an endorsement of such. I am not one of those cretins who thinks being a soldier makes me specially qualified to speak on anything but the military and it's actions abroad.
