The most annoying vacation dynamic is the jerk husband who thinks he’s “funny” but is just disrespectful, loud, and uninformed and his wife/girlfriend is constantly apologizing for him. What a nightmare.

The number one new habit I was relatively consistent with this year was journaling and it drastically improved my quality of life. I needed to express my emotions and I found that through writing.

#Forever on Netflix makes me deeply emotional. My hg and I watched it and had the best discussions. What nuanced and beautiful story telling. It’s refreshing content.

If you’re considering therapy for the first time or even thinking about switching therapists, I say go for it. I met my therapist a year ago…it took me 3 tries to find Cynthia. I’m incredibly grateful to her. She sees all of me and is able to help me do the same.

I fear my new favorite thing is using chatGPT to answer my follow ups thoughts and questions about my therapy sessions. I’m currently learning about “splitting”… next up “family systems theory”

I take my role as Auntie to an eldest daughter very seriously. I try to make her always feel seen, protected, and supported. We’re in this together, baby girl.

One thing Black women are going to do is ask questions. Knowledge is our superpower. I write Rethink Parenthood because I believe we ALL need to be asking more questions of ourselves, of the systems, and of our communities and demanding better answers before we commit to having children.

It scared me! It’s also one of the only movies where almost everyone stayed until the lights came up. I’m grateful we get to live in a time where more Black people can express their art. #sinners
